Ghosts, Opioids, and Dead Mothers

with Heather O'Brien

Hey, first off, you can officially buy a copy of my book The Seven-Figure Marketing Mindset for Novelists. Paperback, ebook, audiobook coming soon. (I’m a one man shop and the audio has been laborious.)

Okay, and now, my guest. Heather O-Brien. She’s the author of a forthcoming saga. It’s thrilling, suspenseful, musical, delightful. Check out her Twitter profile for updates on her publication schedule.

And now, on to our story.

You find a bag of white powder in your daughter’s sock drawer. She’s 15. How do you handle it?

Let me tell you, this story got intensely personal. Heather, our guest, our story-teller, revealed that this story was close to home. Really close. Her daughter has struggled with addiction. Her husband is a recovered addict.

Talk about life experience infiltrating the stories we tell!

Heather got a real curveball when her protagonist dies by accidental overdose. Her ghost goes on a mission to rescue her wayward daughter, comfort and lead a grieving husband and father, and find redemption.

So much ground was left unexplored in this story, and if writing your own version seems appealing, take it. That’s what TRBM is for.

A few questions I’d want to ponder, but didn’t mention, were the opinions of the dead mother’s relatives. The news is going to report that the mother died by overdose, and that will surprise many.

And most importantly, if you enjoy the way Heather thought through and crafted her version of the story, you’ll definitely enjoy her writing.

Go get it!
