My first draft of The 9 Lives of Marva DeLonghi began in 2014. By 2019, the manuscript attracted the attention of three literary agents. I signed with Annie Bomke of the Annie Bomke Literary Agency in April.
In April of 2022, I toasted three years on submission. During those three years, we’d edited and rewritten the manuscript a half dozen times.
Finally, in August of 2022, I learned the book had an offer for publication.
My elation quickly faded after I reviewed the details, and I concluded the offer wasn’t for me. The publisher meant to slot my novel in for March of ‘25. I’d waited long enough.
That choice led me to leave Annie, whom I admire greatly, and we parted ways.
Today, you have that book in your inbox, and the first 150 takers get it absolutely free.
You’re Giving Away A Book, 8-Years-In-the-Making, For Free‽ There Must Be A Catch…
All right, you caught me.
There is a catch. I’m begging you not to scoop up a free copy of my book if you can’t commit to reviewing it on Amazon.
And here’s the deal, this is a $13.99 value. No one will ever buy my book on Amazon for a penny less. But I’m giving it to you for free.
You can download it, read it on Bookfunnel, kindle, Kobo, or any other eReader you prefer. If you have any difficulty downloading the book, shoot me an email, and I’ll get you taken care of.
But before you leave…do me one more favor…
I published this book without so much as a tweet to announce its arrival in the world, and that’s by design.
Please help me keep it a secret.
You have the opportunity to read my book, to own it for free, because you are one of my friends, because we’re in this together.
Grab it now, because the link expires in 24-hours regardless of how many copies are downloaded, but my guess is, you’re not going to have even a fraction of that long to snap up a copy.
Got the file and looking forward to reading it. I've been looking forward to checking out your work for ages.
Thanks, Jody. I'm not trying to be clever, but if people share this post it won't be much of a secret. Or am I missing something? I could mention it in my own newsletter, or would you prefer it if I didn't? The cover is great. So is the opening. Will keep you posted.
