My ad targets first and foremost ebook readers. So if you've never expressed interest in ebooks, you won't see the ad. Then, from there, you'll be winnowed out if you haven't expressed interest in mysteries, urban fantasy, or psychological thrillers. The funnel continues, but that's the basic math behind how Facebook spends my dollars.
For the most part, I disengage with Fb ads by opting out. I just wanted to try and share your ad so more folks see it. I mean, it may only be 1 book sold off the share. But, if they like book 1, that has a 70/30 chance of becoming a series sale.
If you are thinking of a specific person, let me know and I can get you the discount links that go directly to my store for the paperback or the e-books whatever you’re looking for.
There is such a different feel to books one and two - and they're related to the actual story. In book one, I'm not spoiling to say there are a series of deaths that are so much in action mode, there is arguably less (no, not "NO") character development. In a series, you have to build on the prior book to further it. Same goes with character development. There are things in book two, obviously, that wouldn't have been in one. BETWEEN THEM, when the reader gets both, that bigger overarching development hits so deep, you're hooked.
Don't make me hurt you, Sperling. LOL
Seriously - now I feel bed. If book one wasn't good, why would I have begged you for the second?
I won't comment on the episode, only because I lived it. It's obviously great as usual.
I knew you wouldn't be able to resist commenting on that! And perhaps for the authors out there who struggle deeply with self-doubt, and negative self-image, letting the struggle out is the best way to move forward.
I think what you may have not caught is that - for you - I said "...from book two on..." but when describing my saga, I said, "...after you finish book three." So, there's that.
Hopefully, some of the authors who listened will read these comments and will see that I am about thisclose to doing AMMO after the episode. And what my husband and I are doing to make that happen is huge.
Such exciting things are coming, Heather. For both of us. One thing we didn't cover is that for writers who are emotional about their marketing, AMMO is a breath of fresh air. It's all rational, number-crunching, calculated. We need that bit of cool to the heat of our feelings, you know.
Well, Heather & Jody, I bought BOOKS this morning! This podcast was fantastic! Love y'all. ~Madame Robinska
Robin! Thank you. I'm excited to hear about your journey with Luke, Lyle, and Marva. Thanks for taking the leap!
My question is why have I not seen the ad you run on FB? Because am not part of any keyword groups “author” “books” etc. ? Great listen

Of COURSE that's not what I meant.
