Frankly, Jody, I think you could have charged $50 for the lifetime membership. But I'm sure it's a balancing act between it being low enough to be attractive to quality writers, but high enough to weed out those not willing to sacrifice the price of a Big Mac for the chance to be a part of this venture.
And I strongly hope you take a cut of the sales for your time. 10% would not be too much!
Good info! I'm scoping out indie bookstores locally and am contacting them to see if they'll carry my books. I have one that did stock my novella two years ago. This time around I'm going to coordinate this with advertising and marketing ads in May.
