Um ... you know I do video editing, right? If you need help, let me know.
Also - sometimes, you need to bounce ad ideas off in a brainstorming session. I do that, too. Sometimes, doing that "out loud" can save a bit of time. Better than being overwhelmed. We're all war buddies, Jody. Lean on us - you certainly let us lean on you.
This was an exceptional episode. A lot of things to do that aren't "scary." LOL
I've already looked at the Jennifer Thompson link and have bookmarked it. I'll be submitting Lockhardt Sound to any/all of them, along with Kirkus. Since my publisher doesn't do that, I'll be doing it myself. But still - GREAT resources, and I'm thankful for that.
Heather, this is really, truly the million dollar question? How can I ask others to help me when I do so little to help others. I'm selfish with my time and so it just feels unfair. How long have I had the Miles clip I'm supposed to record for you? It's ridiculous. I need to get 10,000% better at using time well and then give of that freed up time to people like you so it isn't all take, take, take on my part.
I'm the same way. I'm in Buckshot, but it's progressing more slowly than usual (the book's great, so don't borrow any angst, my friend). I'm behind on AMMO. I'm not marketing at all. I keep adding to the to-do list and nothing seems to be coming off that list.
For me, I sometimes need to go "back to basics." My mind is a FOG right now. And I miss ... just ... WRITING. So yesterday? I wrote 1547 words on the detective novel thing I think I mentioned. The revenge piece I'm writing. (LOL) But I could also get that onto KU or something. Or use it as a bonus book or whatever - though I'm not inclined to give my hard work away for free.
Anyway, I think having a network of contemporaries (did you not read my last text?!??) is vital. Whittle down the junk (tasks) according to the pool of various strengths.
And dammit - I want my Miles clip! 🤪 My third novel in the saga came out Friday with no fanfare. It's a robust saga one invests time and emotion in. Hard to expect folks are going to have the emotional energy for one every six weeks. It may be good, but it's a personal thing for people, I've found. Like holding up a mirror to oneself. Not sure how that works, but that's some of the feedback I get. It requires something of the readers. Who knew?
Anyway, I'm behind on your stuff, behind on AMMO, and am fully invested in both those things - yet, I find myself just wanting to write. It's been so long. Marketing, while obviously vital, is a soul-sucking vortex of hits and misses. Mostly misses. We need our team.
And we SHOULD be brainstorming on ads if anyone gets stuck. I've read your stuff; you've read mine. Another reason why those in our inner circle should read our stuff. We need each other. Yes, I'm repeating myself AND I may have typos since I'm typing this on my phone. 😬
If your timeline dictates, nudge me on Buckshot. Seriously. I think I console myself about AMMO because of the long game. Book four is out next month. Then, there'll be a total of those four. If I get the P.I. book out, that's 5. And as of September, it's full bore on the last three in the saga. So AMMO will be all the more robust, catalog wise.
We need to prioritize. Hopefully, the upcoming call can try to advance that goal. In the meantime, you know how to reach me. And you're sort of stuck with me now. So stop acting like you do nothing. I'd be dead in the water without you spearheading and sharing your journey. You do EVERYTHING for everyone else.

Now get reading Ballad. (Kidding.)
