This was really helpful! A lot of good info here for me as I get into this side of publishing :) Had not thought about several of these ideas and I will make use of them!

We really need to do a show together soon. You're ready, and it would be so much fun. Tell J. I was so pleased to meet her. She's really great. I could tell from just the few moments we spoke!

Yes. I've got a few more things to get my hands on now but I'll be ready soon :) We will--it was so cool to meet in person for a bit. Jenny had a good time. I'll be in touch!

Jody, as always, a great episode. It was fun tagging along with you on some of your adventures in live sales! (Hey, you finally got your pitch out on the first try!)

But, you'll have to do a follow up episode and cover accpeting payments!

To summarize what we've both learned for anyone perusing the comments...

Square is a good choice for getting started. They don't charge any up front fees, just the usual percentage + $.10. You can get a free mag-strip reader, but their software will read tap to pay cards with your phone! Plus, it's also a convenient way to gather email addresses.

You may also want to be able to accept Venmo and Cash App, so be prepared to accept those as well. You don't want to miss a sale!

Also, have cash for change on hand! If you're selling increments of $5, then you don't need a lot of singles, but if you have other price points, make sure you have plenty of singles and some coins.

And might I also add, it helps with expenses if you have a friend in your destination city who can put you up for a night or two!

Thanks again!
